iMarket Korea’s privacy policy

iMarket Korea values your privacy and complies with the ‘Act on Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection.’ Our privacy policy informs you for what purpose and in what manner personal information is used, and what measures are taken to protect privacy. If the privacy policy is revised, the company will notify the matter through our website, or possibly through individual notification.

1. Personal information items we collect

The company collects the following personal information for membership signup, counseling, service application, etc.

ο Collected items
Name, login ID, mobile phone number, e-mail, company name, department, position, company phone number, resident registration number, service usage records, access log, access IP information

ο How we collect personal information
Through the website when becoming a member, through forms voluntarily submitted, when becoming a member via phone/fax, and through the customer’s HR information system links

2. Purposes for collecting and using personal information

The company will use the collected personal information for the following purposes:

ο Fulfillment of service contracts, assessment of fees for service provision, contents provision, purchasing and fee settlement, and sending to the shipping or billing address

ο Member management
Identification for use of membership services, personal identification, prevention of fraudulent use, confirming intention to join, handling grievances, and delivering notices

ο Used for marketing and advertising
Development and customization of new services (products), delivering advertising related information, e.g. events, access frequency or statistics about members’ service use

3. Period of retaining and using personal information

In principle, after the purposes for which the personal information had been collected are completed the information will be immediately destroyed. If relevant laws stipulate that the membership information be retained, however, the company will retain such information for the period specified by the said laws.

- Retained items: name, login ID, e-mail, company name, department, position, company phone number, service usage records, access log, and access IP information

- Grounds for retention: ‘Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce Transactions, Etc.’

- Retention period: 5 years

4. Procedure for and method of destroying personal information

In principle, after the purposes for which the personal information had been collected are completed the information will be immediately destroyed. The procedure for and method of destroying personal information are as follows:

ο Destruction procedure
The information you entered when joining will be transferred to a separate DB when the purpose is accomplished (to a separate filing cabinet for paper documents). It will be saved for a specified period of time and then destroyed in accordance with our internal policy and other related laws and regulations (see the period of retention and use).
The personal information moved to the separate DB will not be used for any purpose other than retention unless stipulated by law.

ο Destruction method
- Personal information saved in the form of an electronic file will be deleted using a technical method that does not allow either recovery or reproduction of the records.

5. Provision of personal information

In principle, the company will not provide the personal information of users to any outside (third) party. In the following cases, however, an exception will be made;

- in case users agreed to it in advance; and
- in case an investigative agency requests it in accordance with a provision of a law, or in accordance with a procedure or method stipulated in a law for the purpose of an investigation by a legally bound authority.

6. Entrustment of collected personal information

The company will not entrust customer information to any outside (third) party without your consent. If such a need arises in the future the entrustee and the contents of entrustment will be notified to you, and your prior approval will first be obtained if necessary.

7. The rights of users and legal representatives and how to exercise them

Users and their legal representatives may display or modify their own personal information or the personal information of their children under the age of 14, or request cancellation of membership at any time.
To display or modify the personal information of users or children under the age of 14, you can click 'Change personal information' (or 'Modify member information'), and to cancel membership (Agreed withdrawal) you can click "Opt out" and go through the identification process before displaying or correcting information, or withdrawing your membership. Or, if you can contact the person in charge of personal information management in writing, by phone or e-mail, we will take the necessary actions immediately.

If you requested correction of any errors to your personal information, this information will not be used or provided to others until the correction is completed. Also, if incorrect personal information has already been provided to a third party, we will immediately notify the discrepancy and correction to the third party.

iMarket Korea will handle the personal information cancelled or deleted at the request of users or legal representatives as stipulated in the, "Period for retaining and using the personal information collected by iMarket Korea" and make sure that said information is not read or used for any other purpose.

8. Matters concerning installation, operation and denial of automatic personal information collection devices

We do not operate nor use any device or software that automatically collects personal information generated over the Internet such as cookies, etc.
